Decided to take the new camera out for a real-world test drive to see how it works in 5MP and 14MP - aside from the filesize of the photos, there is not much difference. Quite impressed with the depth of field effect on the macro mode.
A few photos did not come out due to the motion of the subjects, so the sensor on it is not the best, certainly. But, all things being equal, for $70 I will at least be able to take photos at the reefs - and even if 50% of them don't turn out or are blurry, I will still have 100% more underwater shots than I would have had I not bought it in the first place. Yep, quite happy with it, indeed.
Eight days until departure! Simply thrilled and cannot wait for the day to arrive!
